Support for Women's Bodies ~Breeze Project~

With goals such as ""Priority Policy for Women's Empowerment and Gender Equality"" and ""Creating a Society Where All Women Shine,"" women are expected to play active roles in various settings. Indeed, they are taking on important roles, and their fields of activity are expanding. Since ""active"" literally means ""to leap vigorously,"" it is essential for one's body to be healthy to achieve this. Therefore, the ""Breeze Project"" was launched with the wish that all students, faculty, and staff at Keio University can learn and work ""lightly"" in both mind and body.

Maintaining one's body can sometimes be an economic burden for women. The Breeze Project provides free distribution of sanitary products to students who need them. Additionally, OiTr (free sanitary napkin dispensers) will be introduced to all campuses.

Gaining correct knowledge about one's body is also important, so the Breeze Project hosts lectures by specialized doctors. For example, understanding menstruation can help individuals grasp how to manage their bodies without being affected by physical condition, even when facing major challenges in their studies or careers, leading to the development of more reliable habits. It's not just about menstruation. As women age, changes in female hormones can lead to various effects. Learning about menopause early on prepares women for how to deal with their bodies during periods when they are entrusted with important career responsibilities. We also hope that men who study and work alongside women will learn about women's bodies.

There may also be times when you wish to not only listen to lectures but also seek advice. Therefore, a ""Women's Body Consultation Room"" has been established within the Keio University Health Center, targeting Keio students, faculty, and staff. A ""Men's Body Consultation Room"" has also been set up alongside it. The consultations are handled by obstetricians/gynecologists, breast surgeons, and urologists from Keio University Hospital. If you have any concerns, please consult with a specialist to maintain your physical health.

We hope that maintaining one's physical condition, so that both mind and body feel light, will lead to future success and bear fruit, especially for young women.

Keio University intends to promote support for women's bodies by establishing the ""Breeze Project."" Through this initiative, we aim to contribute to correcting gender disparities.

Women’s Wellness Initiative — Free Period Product Dispensers

As part of the ""Breeze Project"" for women's body support, Keio University has begun introducing ""OiTr,"" a service that provides free sanitary napkins. By utilizing this service, we aim to alleviate the mental and physical burden associated with menstruation for our students and contribute to correcting gender disparities. These initiatives also align with the SDGs.

Please check the information below for usage instructions and installation locations on each campus. We plan to progressively install additional devices as needed, depending on usage.
