As part of the "Women's Body Support - Breeze Project," the "Body Seminar: A Healthy Body - Exercise and Nutrition" was held on July 13, 2023.
This 10th Body Seminar was held for the first time at Green's Marche on the second floor of the Hiyoshi Campus Cafeteria Building. Many people attended this seminar, which was held under the theme "Let's think about nutrition and exercise while eating an ideal meal" and included a free dinner.
The first half of the seminar featured two mini-lectures.
■ Ms. Yuko Oguma (Associate Professor, Sports Medicine Research Center and Graduate School of Health Management, Keio University)
In her mini-lecture, "Move Well, Eat Well!," she discussed topics such as "Evidence for physical activity (all forms of body movement)" and "What happens when your diet (energy intake) doesn't match your level of exercise?"
■ Ms. Hina Wakao (Registered Dietitian, Bachelor of Preventive Medicine)
In her mini-lecture, "Start Small with What You Can Do: Tips for Improving Your Dietary Balance!," she discussed topics such as "Balance of combinations: Staple food + Main dish + Side dish," "Energy balance: Check for weight changes," and "Balance of three meals: Three meals a day is fundamental."
In the second half of the seminar, participants learned "tips for home cooking" in a relaxed atmosphere while eating a dinner with an ideal menu. The Q&A session also led to further learning for the attendees, with questions about frozen vegetables, the nutritional value of modern vegetables, and even whether one should stand on the train.

Here are some comments from the participants (*excerpts only).
○ I was interested in both lack of exercise and nutrition, and I made new discoveries in both areas.
○ It was interesting to hear about research results based on data, not just general health information. The meal was healthy, satisfying, and very delicious. I would be happy if we could have healthy meals like this in the school cafeteria, even just occasionally.
○ It is common for students living alone for the first time, regardless of gender, to become unwell due to an unbalanced diet. I thought that the practical introduction to nutrition and home cooking, like in this seminar, would be very helpful for such students.
○ Since I live alone, it was very helpful to learn how to make healthy, quick meals. It was also great to be able to eat a delicious meal. I plan to try this at home.
