As part of the Women's Body-Breeze Project, an event on the theme of the female body was held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.
We invited Dr. Tomoko Yoshihama from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, School of Medicine, as a lecturer. She gave a lecture titled "How to Live with Your Body," covering various problems related to the female body and their solutions from a medical perspective, such as "menstrual problems," "How do you use the pill?," and "HPV and cervical cancer."
In the second half, we were joined by four undergraduate and graduate students from the Mita, Hiyoshi, Yagami, and SFC campuses for a roundtable discussion about concerns and questions specific to the female body that are often difficult to talk about.
We received over 100 applications, and participants shared comments such as: "The balance between the doctor's explanation and the roundtable discussion was excellent, allowing me to connect systematic knowledge with specific cases." "The structure was very good; I was able to gain valuable information from the mini-lecture and hear about the panelists' specific experiences and concerns during the roundtable discussion." "It was very informative, as I learned about terms I had never heard before, such as PCOS and PMDD, as well as the different types of low-dose pills."
Please note that only the mini-lecture by Dr. Tomoko Yoshihama from this event will be archived and posted at a later date. It will be uploaded to the news section of the Office for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion website, so we encourage those who are interested to watch it.
I would like to once again express my sincere gratitude to everyone who participated.
Thank you for your questions during pre-registration and the live Q&A, and for your cooperation with the survey. If you have any health concerns, please do not hesitate to consult the Health Center on campus or other similar services.
