Keio University and its graduate schools have always fostered a culture of lifelong learning and social responsibility in education and research through theory and application. Cultural advancement for a better society is an important mission of our graduate schools as we deepen our understanding in the 21st century with an ever-expanding list of graduate study programs.
Since its establishment in 1951, the Graduate School of Letters has been evolving to adapt to changing social needs. Today, the school consists of the following majors: Philosophy and Ethics, Aesthetics and Science of Arts (including Art Managements), History (Japanese, Asian, Western, Archaeology and Ethnology), Japanese Literature (including Japanese Language Education), Chinese Literature, English and American Literature, German Literature, French Literature, and Library and Information Science (including Information Resource Management).

The mission of this program is to transmit the crucial knowledge of the field of economics to students with high ideals and aspirations, and to foster talented individuals with advanced professional skills, whether they continue on to research or to a career in business. The program requires students to think like economists and to produce a scholarly paper of publishable value.

The program offers three majors: civil law, public law, and political science. In addition to specialized course offerings, joint seminars under the supervision of a team of faculty members as well as project-based coursework featuring a variety of outside lecturers are available for all three majors.

The goal of the program is to train outstanding medical researchers and educators, capable of both conducting and supervising original research that grows out of continual dialogue and clinical medicine. This innovative graduate school was established in 1994 to address issues arising from the process of globalization and to develop a global network using a transdisciplinary approach. The principal goal at the graduate school is to train students to become professionals who are able to respond to urgent social and technical needs at local and global levels in the areas of organizational management, policy formation, urban and environmental design, IT, knowledge processing, biotechnology, media technology and design, and social innovation, among others.

The Graduate School of Health Management, established in 2005, was designed for those wishing to become innovative and leading professionals, both as practitioners and researchers in the fields of health and health care. There are two majors: Nursing / Public Health, Sport and Health Sciences. We create a stimulating educational environment where students from a variety of backgrounds, such as health professionals and business leaders, are able to encourage and learn from each other.

The Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences was established at the same time as the merger of Keio University and Kyoritsu College of Pharmacy in 2008. The research and educational activities of the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences are not limited to the areas of fundamental pharmaceutical sciences, but also extends to applied pharmaceutical disciplines, such as drug delivery and drug targeting, clinical pharmaceutics, clinical pathophysiology, clinical drug evaluation, drug informatics, evidence-based medicine, and regulatory sciences. This school is open for graduates from departments/schools of pharmaceutical sciences (4-year program) and those who have received education in equivalent level at other departments/schools.

Keio Business School was established in 1962 to develop both professional managerial skills and a sense of responsibility to society and to corporate citizenship. An emphasis is placed both on particular skill sets required in a specific business function, and on developing well-balanced skills to be an effective general manager who is capable of integrating multi-faceted business operations.

SDM is an interdisciplinary school that integrates humanities and sciences on the basis of systems engineering, system thinking, design thinking, and project management. Students learn the methodologies and techniques required to design and manage new technology systems and social systems while rigorously addressing issues of symbiosis with the environment, confidence and safety, and health and welfare. In addition to intensive lecture courses, design projects under collaboration with industries are offered and are open to both domestic and international students.

Keio University Graduate School of Media Design is committed to fostering "Media Innovators" and creative global leaders who understand the core creative skills of design, technology, management, and policy in the fields of digital media, content, and design. In collaboration with international partner institutions and research facilities, education takes a practical, hands-on, and global approach through various projects. Through the state-of-the-art network infrastructure, students and faculty are immersed in a dynamic multi-location campus environment that fosters a global community. International students obtain the degree by taking courses offered in English only.

The aim of Keio Law School is to impart to talented individuals from diverse backgrounds the skills and values that will enable them to contribute to society as legal professionals in the 21st century. To achieve this aim, the school offers J.D. and LL.M. programs that are multidisciplinary and pioneering. The school also offers opportunities for independent research and an array of specialized foreign-law courses.The J.D. program qualifies students to sit for the Japanese bar exam and pursue careers as Japanese judges, prosecutors and attorneys. The LL.M. program instructs students entirely in English and prepares students to pursue careers as global legal professionals.
