On Tuesday, February 28, Keio Colloquium 2023, a part of JST Doctoral Program Student Support Project, was held in a hybrid format combining in-person and online sessions at the Mita Campus West Building and 1st floor classrooms.
Over 200 Keio University doctoral students, both at the venue and online, gathered at the colloquium and engaged in exchanges that transcended their fields of specialization. Ms. Yoky Matsuoka, former CTO of Google Nest, co-founder of Google X and current CEO of Yohana, gave the keynote speech at the beginning of the event. She shared her experiences as a researcher and entrepreneur, and all participants listened attentively and inspired by her presentation.
The sessions were divided into four themes each in the morning and afternoon, with a mix of in-person and online sessions, and in languages such as Japanese, English, and Chinese, and all themes were discussed in a lively atmosphere. The status of each theme was presented in English at the end of the event by a representative of the group to the entire audience on the stage.
This was the largest-ever face-to-face gathering of doctoral students, and provided a good opportunity for future interdisciplinary research and exchange.
