Regarding Reasonable Accommodations for Examinations and Post-Admission Student Life

      
       

At Keio University, we provide reasonable accommodations to students who require special consideration in (graduate school entrance) examinations or post-admission student life due to a disability or illness, based on their particular symptoms and condition.
Applicants who require reasonable accommodations should refer to the following instructions to submit an application.
Please note that not all requests can be accommodated. We ask for your understanding in this matter.

      

1. Application procedures

The application process and deadlines, as well as how requests are handled, vary depending on the graduate school and type of entrance examination.
Please be sure to refer to the application guidebook of the graduate school to which you wish to apply and submit your application by the designated deadline.
If you have any queries regarding the application process, please make your inquiry through the email address indicated in the application guidebook for the respective graduate school.         

2. Main examples of reasonable accommodations during examinations

       

The main examples of reasonable accommodations provided during examinations are as follows.
・A separate room provided for the examination. *You may not select a private room. You may have to share the room with other students who are also taking the examination.
・Extended examination time
・Easy access to toilets from the examination venue
・Wearing of hearing aids permitted (hearing aids that are compatible with hearing assistance systems should have the communication function disabled)
・Medication allowed to be placed on the desk, and students permitted to take medication during the examination
・The student's carer permitted to accompany the student in the examination venue
・Use of wheelchairs permitted
etc.
