Keio Futsubu School: The Final Showdown

At Keio Futsubu School, teachers directly instruct students or work up a sweat alongside them in many club activities. The culmination of these club activities appears in an unexpected place. Around the time of the graduation ceremony, several clubs hold farewell matches between a team of graduating students and a mixed team of teachers, or teachers and coaches. The matches are always heated, with students eager to beat the teachers and coaches who have taught them, and the faculty responding with their full effort. In contrast to the solemn atmosphere of the graduation ceremony, loud cheers are sent to both teams from within the teams themselves, as well as from the underclassmen and parents watching. These serious farewell matches have become a scene that signals the arrival of spring.
