Yochisha Elementary School: Hiyoshi Excursion
At Yochisha Elementary School, it is an annual tradition for first-grade students to go on an excursion to Hiyoshi Campus in mid-May. They are likely told, "When you grow up, this is the campus you will attend."
First, the students gather at the Commemorative Hall, a symbol of Hiyoshi Campus, where the first-graders are overwhelmed by its size. Starting from the Commemorative Hall, they pass through the courtyard, go down a long slope, and head toward the riding grounds. There, they receive carrots from older students in the Equestrian Team and feed the horses. Next, they take a short break on the benches at the Mamushidani tennis courts. From there, they climb the stairs through the woods and walk around the practice field of the American Football Team. The first-graders are greeted by the large players and happily say "Hello." After watching practice at the baseball field, they finally climb a long flight of stairs to reach the track and field stadium, which is their goal. By this point, everyone is exhausted. After eating their bento box lunches and playing on the beautiful artificial turf, the first-graders' excursion comes to an end.
