PEARL
Keio University Faculty of Economics’ New,
All-English BA Programme

In September 2016, the Faculty of Economics at Keio University will start the all-English four-year “Programme in Economics for Alliances, Research and Leadership (PEARL).”

PEARL is Keio at its most traditional, and at its most innovative. It is designed to help minds grow in wisdom and knowledge like pearls grow in beauty and lustre. PEARL offers a world-class education in liberal arts and advanced economics, and admission is limited to 100 students. The academic year begins in September, and all classes are taught in English. By offering a stimulating academic environment in which students from Japan and around the world can interact and learn together, PEARL is designed to foster the global leaders of tomorrow.

Admission to the PEARL programme will be determined by a screening of application documents, which include the submission of standardised test scores (such as IB, SAT, or ACT), English proficiency test scores (TOEFL iBT and/or IELTS), and other relevant documents. No interview is required, therefore it is not necessary for applicants to come to Japan for the screening process. Information on the eligibility requirements, application documents, and application schedule for the September 2016 entry is available on the following web page:

With the launch of PEARL, Keio is providing more opportunities for a global education than ever before.
