On February 25, 2026, Pravesh Mistry, head of global sales at Notion Labs, Inc., and Katsukiyo Nishi, general manager for the Asia Pacific region at Notion Labs Japan, visited Keio's Mita Campus and took part in a signing ceremony with Keio President Kohei Itoh where they signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). This MoU will revolutionize education, research, and university administration by integrating knowledge and operations in the drive towards realization of Keio’s "Top Global AI-Native University" vision.
At the ceremony, President Itoh showcased the concept of a “human-centered AI-native university” and explained the importance of creating an institution that nurtures talents who can demonstrate their originality and compete head-on with cutting-edge AI, improving the technology and their own skills in the process. President Itoh further emphasized that leveraging Notion’s expertise to consolidate information dispersed throughout the university and building the infrastructure needed to allow universal access to AI is key to enhancing university administration and accelerating knowledge creation by Keio students and researchers. He expressed his determination to take Keio University to greater heights through cooperation with AI, and at times, through the lively exchange of ideas resulting from the clash between AI and human originality and individuality.
Pravesh Mistry, who heads the global sales division at Notion Labs, Inc., positioned this initiative as not just a mere introduction of new tools, but rather as a model that will serve as a “North Star” for other educational institutions. He expressed his support in enabling educators and researchers to focus on their essential duties by reducing their administrative workload, as well as his hope that Keio students, who have been learning together with AI since their first day at the university, will become future leaders that can bring about a ripple effect of change in society.
Next, General Manager Nishi took the podium to convey his congratulations on the launch of the collaboration with Keio University. He pointed out that the power of AI cannot be fully utilized if the intellectual assets accumulated over Keio’s 168 years and the vast amount of administrative information updated daily remain scattered across the university. He added that Notion will function as a shared infrastructure within the university, connecting knowledge and operations in one place, and provide the foundation for advancing cooperation between humans and AI.
This collaboration initiative will start with the introduction of Notion AI tools to all faculty and staff members at Keio University, with the aim of boosting productivity in education, research, and university administration. Keio aims to make further progress by establishing an infrastructure to consolidate information dispersed throughout the university, thereby accelerating the creation of new forms of learning and knowledge, and honing our uniquely human intelligence by confronting cutting-edge AI technology head-on.
