On Monday, December 1, Keio STAR (Center for Sustainable and Transformative Actions for Regeneration) hosted a high-level dialogue entitled "Dialogue with ESCAP Executive Secretary Dr. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana on SDG Implementation and the 'Beyond SDGs' in Asia-Pacific" at Keio University's Mita Campus North-Annex Building.
The event welcomed Dr. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), as the keynote guest, and brought together representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the Ministry of the Environment, Kanagawa Prefectural Government, the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), Global Compact Network Japan, civil society organizations, private companies, and youth networks.
Moderated by Professor Norichika Kanie (Graduate School of Media and Governance; Co-Director of Keio STAR), the dialogue explored SDG implementation in Asia and the Pacific, the growing "Beyond SDGs" agenda after 2030, and opportunities for multi-stakeholder cooperation. Participants expressed strong interest in further collaboration with ESCAP on themes such as SDG data and dashboards, city-level and regional well-being indicators, business and human rights, and youth-led initiatives relating to the "Beyond SDGs" agenda.
Keio STAR will continue to serve as a platform for multi-stakeholder dialogue and knowledge co-creation, working closely with domestic and international partners to accelerate sustainable and transformative actions in the Asia-Pacific region.
