On November 12, 2025, seven researchers from Keio University were selected for the annual Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers (HCR) list.

- Professor Toshiro Sato (Department of Biochemistry)
- Professor Emeritus Akihiko Yoshimura (affiliated with the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the time of research; currently a professor at the Tokyo University of Science)
- Visiting Professor Koji Atarashi (affiliated with the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the time of research; currently a professor at Kyushu University)

The HCR list recognizes outstanding researchers who have published multiple papers landing in the top 1% of citations for research in their respective disciplines. The list encompasses 21 Essential Science Indicators (ESI) fields and the cross-field category, for a total of 22 categories. In the 2025 edition, 6,868 researchers were selected from 60 countries or regions worldwide, 88 of whom were from Japan.
