On March 14, a seven-member delegation led by Professor Shearer West, vice-chancellor of the University of Nottingham, visited Mita Campus.
The delegation met with Keio University President Kohei Itoh, Professor Hisayo Ogushi, dean of the International Center, and Professor Akira Funahashi from the Faculty of Science and Technology. They discussed research collaboration and student exchange between the two universities, how to address diversity issues, the medical system at the university hospital, and other topics.
Professor Funahashi, who specializes in systems biology, is collaborating with Professor Nigel Mongan, who specializes in oncology, on a joint research project. They discussed further possibilities for combined research between the fields of medical sciences and engineering.
In addition, the two universities plan to further foster student exchanges in the future.
