According to the 2024 Research Leaders Index published by Springer Nature on June 18, 2024, Keio University was ranked 10th for academic institutions in Japan.
The Nature Index assesses institutions based on their share of articles published in 145 natural science and health science journals over the last year (January 1, 2023—December 31, 2023).
Keio was 369th in the rankings for research institutions around the world and 12th in Japan when non-academic institutions were included. Keio was also ranked 8th out of all institutions in Japan for its contributions in the health sciences and 10th in the biological sciences.
