The COVID-19 vaccination program at Keio University, which began on Monday, June 21, has entered its second week. By the end of the first week (6 days) of vaccinations on Saturday, June 26, 9,833 people had received their first inoculation. In addition to students, faculty and staff members and people who live with them, those who work on Keio campuses, and other related parties, vaccines are also being administered to those planning to study abroad (people who have applied for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "study abroad vaccine support project" and those who have made a request to Keio University via another university).
To operate the vaccination venue, staff mainly from the Keio University Hospital, School of Medicine, Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care, Faculty of Pharmacy, Keio University Health Center, etc., have been brought in, and we also have the cooperation of alumni from the School of Medicine, Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care, and Faculty of Pharmacy, allowing for the administration of vaccines to proceed steadily.
As the line for the elevator to the venue sometimes extends outdoors, a tent was put up to protect people from the sun and rain, while the information, etc., available inside the venue is being improved daily to ensure its smooth operation.
Vaccination is optional and only those wishing to receive it apply to be inoculated. No restrictions will be placed on the use of campus facilities or on educational and research activities based on whether or not a person has been vaccinated.
