The state of emergency declared by the government on April 7 was lifted for Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefectures on May 25.
In light of the situation regarding infections by COVID-19 (coronavirus disease), Keio University implemented its own emergency measures to protect the health and safety of its students, faculty and staff members, and related parties, and prioritize the prevention of the spread of infection while striving to continue with its educational, research, and healthcare activities. Although the state of emergency declared by the government has been lifted, in principle, classes and research activities will continue to be conducted online; however, from the standpoint of maintaining and continuing educational and research activities at Keio University, we will implement the gradual reopening of those campus facilities that are indispensable for carrying out educational and research activities after taking sufficient measures to prevent viral infections.
This decision has been made to ensure that Keio can continue to carry out educational, research, and healthcare activities while prioritizing the prevention of the spread of infections and protecting the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff members, and related parties.
We thank you for your kind cooperation and understanding.
