Four researchers from Keio University selected among the world's most influential researchers (Highly Cited Researchers 2020)
On November 18, 2020, four faculty members of the School of Medicine—Professor Kenya Honda (Department of Microbiology and Immunology), Associate Professor Koji Atarashi (Department of Microbiology and Immunology), Assistant Professor Takeshi Tanoue (Department of Microbiology and Immunology), and Professor Toshiro Sato (Department of Organoid Medicine [Sakaguchi Laboratory])—were selected as Highly Cited Researchers (hereinafter HCR), as chosen by Clarivate Analytics every year. Of all academic papers circulated in the previous year, HCR are outstanding researchers in 21 scientific categories who have published multiple papers with citations that rank in the top 1%. In the 2020 edition, 6,167 individuals were selected from around the world (approximately 60 countries), and of these, about 90 were from Japan.
Professor Kenya Honda and Associate Professor Koji Atarashi were selected in the Immunology category, Assistant Professor Takeshi Tanoue was selected in the Cross-Field category, and Professor Toshiro Sato in the Molecular Biology and Genetics category.
