The restoration work which has been conducted since February 2017 to strengthen the Old Library on Mita Campus against earthquakes as well as to preserve it is now complete.
The fencing that was erected around the building while the restoration work took place has all been removed, and almost immediately, students and visitors to the campus were seen taking photographs and making sketches of the Old Library which had emerged in its entirety.
It is planned hereafter to establish the "Keio Historical Archive Space (provisional name)" inside the Old Library. This space is intended to be a venue to spread Keio’s philosophy and culture and introduce its history and traditions.
