The 8th International Cybersecurity Symposium, "Cybersecurity: Trust Services for Cross-Border Digital Economy," was held over the two days of Thursday, July 11 and Friday, July 12 at the West School Building Hall and other venues at Mita Campus.
After addresses by Japanese governmental and embassy officials, the International Cybersecurity Center of Excellence Charter Agreement was concluded between Keio University and five other institutions: Imperial College London (UK); the Royal Holloway School at the University of London (UK); The George J. Kostas Research Institute for Homeland Security at Northeastern University (US); the Baltimore County School at the University of Maryland (US); and Kyushu University (Japan).
Following this, in addition to the keynote speech themed on the fostering of human resources and trust services initiatives in cybersecurity, and lectures by participants from the United States, United Kingdom, and EU countries as well as by governmental parties, themed parallel sessions were provided and the experts engaged in broad-minded debate.
Governmental delegates and industry players from participant countries gathered at the venue contributing a markedly international flavor to the symposium.
