From October 15 to 22, British athletes from Archery GB and British Rowing began the first of a number of planned training camps at Keio University, which will host the Tokyo 2020 Team GB Preparation Camp for the British Olympic Association together with Kawasaki and Yokohama cities. The athletes made full use of the university’s training facilities at Hiyoshi Campus and the nearby Shimoda Gym, as well as participating in joint-training sessions with student members of Keio Archery and the Keio Rowing Club.
The athletes were also invited for late afternoon tea at the British Embassy in Tokyo, where members of the rowing team demonstrated why they would be the team to beat in 2020. The captains of the Keio Rowing Club were also in attendance together with three Keio representatives.
