On March 29-30, the 6th Keio International Cybersecurity Symposium was held at Mita Campus under the title Corporate Decision-making for Reliable Global Supply Chains. At the current symposium, complementing lectures by governmental and industry players in the field of cybersecurity, parallel sessions were held with the themes: Diverse Measures to Enhance Japanese Cybersecurity; Security as a Core Business Strategy; and How to Encourage Japan-US Collaboration to Encompass the Latest Cyber Agenda.
Since establishing the Cybersecurity Research Center in August 2015, Keio University has been engaged in various initiatives to address societal challenges in the area of cybersecurity, including holding international symposiums and establishing the world’s first InterNational Cyber Security Center of Excellence (INCS-CoE) to respond to cyber threats. With the fresh addition of universities in Israel and Indonesia, INCS-CoE, which was established in November 2016, has now expanded its scope to include 24 universities.
New academic partnership agreements to join INCS-CoE were also signed with the University of Delaware, Northeastern University, University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), Tel Aviv University, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and Technion (Israel Institute of Technology.) Ambassadors and governmental and industry players from the respective countries of the universities participating in the signing ceremony also came to the symposium venue for the opportunity to forge relationships across international and institutional boundaries.
