The 59th Mita Festival was held for four days at Keio University's Mita Campus from Thursday, November 23 to Sunday, November 26.
The Mita Festival is based on one of Keio’s founding principles of “independence and self-respect” and is planned and run by students who are currently studying at the university. It is one of the biggest school festivals in Japan with around 400 groups taking part this year, inviting leading figures in various fields to give lectures as well as organizing seminar research presentations and exhibitions in the classrooms. Numerous food stalls were set up in Mita Quad and the outdoor stage featured many elaborate performances, such as dance routines and live bands. Mita Campus was also in peak autumn colors thanks to the golden ginkgo trees and the campus was crowded with visitors, filling the air with excitement.
