On May 17, the then president of Keio University, Atsushi Seike, visited the National University of Singapore (NUS). President Tan Chorh Chuan of NUS took President Seike on a tour around the campus. They visited the Keio-NUS CUTE Center, a joint collaboration between NUS and Keio University (Graduate School of Media Design), and heard about the research projects that are being carried out. They also visited University Town, NUS’s new educational hub complete with residential spaces and learning facilities. Furthermore, he learned about the NUS Overseas Colleges (NOC) program, which gives students opportunities and options to experience life at start-ups around the world.
In recent years, NUS has been attracting attention not only as one of the top universities in Asia, but also as one of the top universities in the world. Keio University has various exchanges with NUS, including student exchange and research collaborations. In addition, President Tan is a member of Keio University’s Global Advisory Council (GAC), the president’s advisory committee for the Top Global University Project. At the talks, a Keio researcher studying centenarians joined the discussion on the joint research on ageing being carried out between NUS and Keio University’s School of Medicine.
