April 6, 2021
In the 2020 academic year, Keio University's campuses were temporarily closed during the Spring Semester from the perspective of preventing the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease), while the entrance ceremonies that would usually take place in April and September were both conducted online in September. A special event will therefore be held to welcome in person students who were admitted to the university in the 2020 academic year and to introduce the traditions and current culture of studying at Keio University. The program schedule will be announced on this webpage at a later date.
In view of giving maximum consideration to the health and safety of Keio students and preventing the spread of COVID-19, in-person participation will be limited to students who were admitted in the 2020 academic year. We kindly request the understanding of all family members regarding this decision reached by the university. You are cordially invited to watch the online video broadcast of the event proceedings on the day.

Notes |
・ It is not necessary to contact the university if you are unable to attend the event. ・ A video of the event will be streamed on Keio University's official website on the day for everyone who is unable to attend. Please watch the day's proceedings online. We will announce the URL for the video stream at a later date. A video archive of the event will also be made available to watch from the same link for a fixed period. [To all attendees] ・ Please use public transportation when coming to the venue. When using public transportation, please cooperate with measures to prevent the spread of infections, including wearing a mask at all times and refraining from talking. ・ Please take your temperature at home on the day, and do not come to the venue if you have a fever of 37.5 degrees or higher or if you are feeling unwell. Your temperature will also be checked at the venue reception. You will not be allowed to enter the venue if it is determined that you have a fever. ・ Please wear a mask at all times while on campus and refrain from talking with others as much as possible. Please do not remove masks when taking commemorative photos, etc. ・ Please note that you will not be allowed to enter or leave the venue once the event has begun. ・ We intend to prepare photo frames that can be used on your smartphone. We will announce when these are ready on this webpage. ・ After the event has finished, please do not remain on campus any longer than is necessary. ・ Because group meals (multiple people gathering to eat, drink, and converse together) involve people removing their masks to talk in close proximity, there is an extremely high risk of infection through droplets, and this has actually been a major cause for the spread of infections. You are strongly requested to refrain from group meals before and after the event, even when off campus. ・ Seating will be arranged at the Hiyoshi Commemorative Hall, the venue for the event, in consideration of COVID-19. Although it is expected that everyone attending will be able to sit inside the Commemorative Hall, if the number of students at the event greatly exceeds what had been expected, please understand that you may be refused entry to the venue. [To family members] ・ Family members are kindly requested to refrain from accompanying students who will attend the event to the campus. |
