This is a testament to Keio’s comprehensive educational and research capabilities, that not only are the traditional academic fields of the humanities and social sciences receiving recognition, but the activities of the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care, Faculty of Pharmacy, and School of Medicine, collaborations between the various fields in engineering and medicine, and advanced research being carried out at SFC, among others, are also winning praise.
Constant changes and developments shape the world we live in today. In these times, it is essential that comprehensive universities shoulder the responsibility of finding balance and unity between technology and society with the ultimate goal of enriching the well-being of all humanity. To this end, we are doing our utmost to progress the educational, research, and health care activities of the university. Our ongoing activities to realize this objective include reinforcing the integrated education system that goes from elementary school to the university and graduate school, increasing the scope of our interdisciplinary research and research that incorporate the sciences and the arts, and enhancing collaborative projects undertaken with industry and other research institutions. Mindful that none of this can be accomplished unassisted, we ask for your continued understanding and unyielding support in the year ahead.
