Kabuto Tsuchida (4th year, Faculty of Policy Management), a member of Associate Professor Tatsuki Hayama's laboratory in the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, has won the "Best Poster Presentation Award" at ADADA+CUMULUS 2025.

ADADA+CUMULUS is an international conference co-hosted by the Asia Digital Art and Design Association (ADADA) and the Cumulus Association, an international organization for art and design education and research. Focusing on art and design utilizing digital technology, the conference has been a platform for presenting novel works, exchanging innovative ideas, and discussing the future of digital art and design in Asia for over 20 years, including its history as a standalone ADADA event. The 23rd conference was held at Tokyo Metropolitan University from December 1 to 3, 2025.

Tsuchida's presentation received high praise for its novelty in extending marbling—traditionally a two-dimensional technique—into a three-dimensional modeling method, as well as for the level of completion in demonstrating that expression as a physical relief, leading to the "Best Poster Presentation Award."

Comment from Kabuto Tsuchida

I am deeply honored to receive such an award at my first international conference. This research is an attempt to fuse the contingency of marbling with the controllability of algorithms to restore a physical, tactile sensation to digital fabrication. I would like to express my deep gratitude to my supervising professor and all the members of the research group. Encouraged by the discussions at the conference and this award, I intend to devote myself even further to my research.
