The vision of "Society 5.0," which aims to balance the resolution of social issues with economic development by integrating cyberspace and the physical world, is also known as the "Smart Society." The Smart Society not only optimizes society as a whole but also fosters a community where individual capabilities can flourish and diverse needs and desires are mutually fulfilled.

In the first part of this symposium, we will outline a vision connected to the digital fabrication that we have been focusing on. This will be done through discussions on creativity that spans cyberspace and the physical world, and the future of a society where data and objects are connected, including topics such as IoT, information banks, and blockchain. In the second part, we will report on research and development aimed at uncovering and responding to diverse desires and needs in areas such as human sensibility (kansei), materials and equipment, design, and on-site applications.

Speakers from Keio University will include Jun Murai (Dean of the Graduate School of Media and Governance, Professor at the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies) and Hiroya Tanaka (Professor at the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies).

This symposium is organized by the "Center for Fab Earth Society that Connects Kansei and Digital Fabrication to Expand Human Creativity," which is supported by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) "Center of Innovation (COI) Program," with Keio University as its core institution. We intend to report on the results of our ongoing research and development, and hope that through these discussions, we can create opportunities to expand our partnerships for R&D and implementation. We kindly request your assistance in publicizing this event.
