Following up on fiscal year 2017, the Global Fab Society Consortium at the Keio Research Institute at SFC, Keio University, will hold a contest in collaboration with fab facilities across Japan to foster talent that will shape the future.

The aim is to discover practical case studies and talented individuals in the STEM*1 fields, as well as ways to utilize new technologies such as 3D printers, digital fabrication tools, and IoT, and to nurture this talent within local communities.

With a total of five categories, we are seeking entries from a wide range of ages, from elementary school students to professionals, for works that transcend fields and generations, are not bound by a single set of values, and suggest diverse possibilities.

We look forward to receiving works and ambitious challenges from all over Japan that use technology to connect society and make the future brighter, more enjoyable, and kinder.

*1: An acronym for the educational fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
