Starting the Conversation on Regional Revitalization xSDG
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are international goals adopted at the United Nations Summit in September 2015 to achieve a transformation towards a sustainable global society, "leaving no one behind." They are goals for 2030 that can only be achieved when developing and developed countries work together, with all stakeholders taking action. The essence lies in achieving what was previously impossible by "multiplying" the activities of diverse actors, such as corporations and local governments, with the SDGs to foster collaboration. The xSDG Lab at the Keio Research Institute at SFC, Keio University was established to solve social issues through research based on such collaborations.
This symposium will feature discussions on the theme of "Local Governments xSDG." What are the keys to promoting the SDGs in local governments? How should we approach the SDGs to create business opportunities? How can we generate collaboration surrounding the SDGs?
Moderated by Guest Professor (Part-time) Kuniya, we will clarify the challenges and possibilities for collaboration.
