Camp for Designing the Future 2019 Follow-up Program Implementation Report

A follow-up program was held from September 2019 to March 2020 as part of the residential workshop "Collaborative Robot Workshop: People and Robots Growing Together Through Interaction," which was conducted at the Camp for Designing the Future 2019.

Three high school students participated in the seminar that formed the core of the "Collaborative Robot Workshop: People and Robots Growing Together Through Interaction" at the residential Camp for Designing the Future.

Each student set their own research topic with the goal of producing results within one semester, and they participated in research meetings about once a week, using remote meeting tools such as Webex. For just over half a year, they pursued research on themes aligned with their individual interests, such as a child monitoring system using beacons, a programming education support tool, and a dialogue system for interacting with young children using infant-directed speech.

In March 2020, as the impact of COVID-19 intensified, each student successfully completed their research theme. They were awarded certificates of completion with the hope that they will further deepen their learning and research based on their respective research outcomes and experiences.
