Camp for Designing the Future 2017 Follow-up Program Implementation Report

A follow-up program was held from September 2017 to March 2018 as part of the "Collaborative Robot Design Workshop," a residential workshop conducted during the Camp for Designing the Future 2017.

Four high school students participated in two research seminars (zemi) of the "Collaborative Robot Design Workshop" from the residential Camp for Designing the Future.

They each set their own research topics to produce results within one semester and participated in the research seminars about once a week, also using remote tools like Skype.

Focusing on the theme of methods and designs for giving robots a "lifelike" quality, they advanced their research for just over half a year on topics based on their individual interests, such as implementing emotional expressions that react to human facial expressions and designing the process of growth through learning from humans. In March 2018, they gave a joint presentation at the research seminar.

After the program concluded, they were awarded certificates of completion, along with the hope that they will further deepen their learning and research based on the results and experiences gained.
