1 Energy Conservation Goals
Reduce energy consumption intensity by 2% or more compared to FY2024 for each campus unit.
*1 Energy Consumption Intensity
A numerical value calculated by converting each type of energy (electricity, gas, etc.) into its caloric equivalent to total the usage of different units, and then dividing that total by the total floor area of each campus.
2 Results for March
The four campuses of Mita, Yagami, Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC), and Shiba-Kyoritsu Campus showed a decrease, while Hiyoshi Campus and Shinanomachi showed an increase. The four campuses that decreased achieved reductions exceeding the energy conservation goals.
(1) Comparison with FY2024 (Parentheses indicate energy consumption intensity)
Mita Campus: 91% (50MJ/m2 )
Hiyoshi Campus: 103% (60MJ/m2 )
Yagami Campus: 96% (152MJ/m2 )
Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC): 91% (53MJ/m2 )
Shiba-Kyoritsu Campus: 97% (113MJ/m2 )
Shinanomachi Campus: 103% (213MJ/m2 )
(2) Factor Analysis
The outside temperature in Tokyo was at a similar level to the previous year (0.3°C higher), and the impact on heating demand at each campus is thought to have been limited. Energy consumption intensity decreased at Mita due to operational improvements of the CGS; at Yagami due to the switch to LED lighting and operational improvements of air conditioning equipment in common areas; at Shonan Fujisawa due to power generation during test runs of the solar power generation system scheduled to start operation in FY2026; and at Shiba-Kyoritsu due to factors such as heat source upgrades. On the other hand, energy consumption intensity increased at Hiyoshi due to increased usage from facility rentals, and at Shinanomachi due to factors such as increased CGS operating hours.
