1 Energy Conservation Goals
Reduce energy consumption intensity by 2% or more compared to FY2024 for each campus unit.
*1 Energy Consumption Intensity
A numerical value calculated by converting each type of energy (electricity, gas, etc.) into heat to totalize different units of energy used, and then dividing that total by the total floor area of each campus.
2 December Results
Three campuses—Mita Campus, Yagami Campus, and Shiba-Kyoritsu Campus—showed a decrease, while Hiyoshi Campus, Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC), and Shinanomachi showed an increase. The three campuses that decreased achieved reductions exceeding the energy conservation goals.
(1) Comparison with FY2024 (Parentheses indicate energy consumption intensity)
Mita Campus: 91% (57MJ/m2 )
Hiyoshi Campus: 100% (76MJ/m2 )
Yagami Campus: 96% (168MJ/m2 )
Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC): 107% (75MJ/m2 )
Shiba-Kyoritsu Campus: 88% (120MJ/m2 )
Shinanomachi Campus: 103% (217MJ/m2 )
(2) Factor Analysis
The outside air temperature (Tokyo), which is closely related to energy consumption, was +0.3°C higher than the previous year, and the sunshine duration (Tokyo) was 62 hours shorter, which likely led to an increase in air conditioning demand on the south side of buildings. Mita Campus saw a decrease in energy consumption intensity due to CGS operational improvements; Yagami Campus due to the optimization of air conditioning operation management; and Shiba-Kyoritsu Campus due to the effects of switching to LED lighting and optimizing the operation management of heat sources and air conditioning. Meanwhile, Hiyoshi Campus saw a slight increase due to the operation of Fujiyama Memorial Hall (Fujiyama Kinenkan); Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC) saw a 7% increase due to increased use of heat source equipment for demand response and relaxed temperature settings for air conditioners; and Shinanomachi Campus saw a 3% increase due to having one additional day of medical consultations.
