1. Overview

With the goal of realizing a decarbonized society and sustainable campus operations, we are launching the "ENERGY VISUALIZATION SYSTEM," which visualizes combined electricity and gas energy consumption in real time.

The system will first begin operation at the Mita Campus, with plans for sequential rollout to the Hiyoshi, Yagami, Shonan Fujisawa, Shinanomachi, and Shiba-Kyoritsu campuses. By utilizing this system, we aim to enhance energy management within Keio and expect it to serve as an educational foundation that encourages behavioral change among students, faculty, and staff.

2. Background of System Implementation

To date, we have worked on various environmental measures, such as upgrading existing equipment to energy-saving models and improving the operation of facilities. The system being introduced now enables real-time visualization of energy usage, CO₂ emissions, and estimated utility costs at the campus and building levels. Furthermore, it will be possible to provide environmental data that can be utilized for classes and research, allowing for a more strategic development of the Juku's energy management.

3. System Features

(1) Centralized Management of Real-Time and Historical Data

a. Visualizes real-time data combining electricity and gas usage

b. Aggregates energy data collected from sensors installed in individual buildings

c. Faculty and staff can immediately check the status from PCs or smartphones

(2) Easy-to-Understand Display via "Energy Dashboard"

a. Intuitively displays usage trends and historical performance through graphs and rankings

b. Supports the creation of mechanisms that make it easier for users to take energy-saving actions

(3) Utilization in Education and Research

a. Can provide open data usable for classes and research projects

b. Supports the implementation of student-led energy-saving proposals

4. Future Developments

Using this "ENERGY VISUALIZATION SYSTEM" as a foundation, we will promote the introduction of renewable energy, the realization of a carbon-neutral campus, and environmental improvement projects in collaboration with students, faculty, and staff.

5. Notice

Since measurement of real-time gas usage data began in June 2025, some items may not correctly display comparison data with the previous fiscal year. This situation will be resolved in June 2026.
