1 Energy Conservation Goals
Reduce energy consumption intensity by 2% or more compared to FY2024 for each campus unit.
*1 Energy Consumption Intensity
A numerical value calculated by converting each energy source (electricity, gas, etc.) into heat quantity to total the usage of energy using different units, and dividing that total value by the total floor area of each campus.
2 Results for July
Four campuses—Mita Campus, Yagami Campus, Shiba-Kyoritsu Campus, and Shinanomachi—showed a decrease, while two campuses—Hiyoshi Campus and Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC)—showed an increase. Shiba-Kyoritsu Campus and Shinanomachi achieved reductions exceeding the energy conservation goals.
(1) Comparison with FY2024 (Energy consumption intensity in parentheses)
Mita Campus: 99% (83MJ/m2 )
Hiyoshi Campus: 101% (94MJ/m2 )
Yagami Campus: 99% (237MJ/m2 )
Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC): 103% (95MJ/m2 )
Shiba-Kyoritsu Campus: 94% (159MJ/m2 )
Shinanomachi Campus: 97% (296MJ/m2 )
(2) Factor Analysis
The outside air temperature (Tokyo), which is closely related to energy consumption, showed little difference from the previous year and is considered to be within a range that does not directly affect cooling demand. However, for Hiyoshi Campus and Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC), energy consumption intensity is thought to have increased due to factors such as the addition of air conditioning equipment and the relaxation of air conditioning temperature settings as a measure against heatstroke. On the other hand, for Shiba-Kyoritsu Campus and Shinanomachi Campus, where energy consumption intensity decreased significantly, the effects of reducing electricity usage through LED lighting retrofits (Shiba-Kyoritsu/Shinanomachi) and adjusting the supply air volume of outdoor air handling units (Shiba-Kyoritsu), as well as reducing gas usage through the maintenance of heat source equipment (Shinanomachi), are considered to have been significant.
