Shinzo Koizumi Prize All Japan High School Essay Contest Now Accepting Applications

Keio University has held the "Shinzo Koizumi Prize All Japan High School Essay Contest" since 1976, the 10th anniversary of the death of Dr. Shinzo Koizumi. The purpose of this contest is to pass on the personality and achievements of Dr. Koizumi—a former President of Keio University and a renowned economist and writer—to future generations and to contribute to the improvement of writing skills among young people.

In this contest, high school students across Japan are asked to write an essay of 6,000 to 8,000 characters. The essay should not be a mere personal opinion but should have a clear thesis supported by evidence or arguments.

The application form is scheduled to open around mid-June. We encourage you to actively participate in this historic event, now in its 46th year.
