The newly completed "Zone A" of "King Skyfront, Tonomachi International Strategic Zone" (Tonomachi District, Kawasaki Ward, Kawasaki City), which is located close to Haneda Airport and home to many research institutions including the Keio University Tonomachi Town Campus, was officially opened on Wed., May 30. Kawasaki City Mayor Norihiko Fukuda and Kanagawa Prefecture Governor Yuji Kuroiwa attended the ceremony, and during the tour that followed, the seminar rooms and laboratories of the Tonomachi Town Campus were also unveiled.
Established in April 2016, Tonomachi Town Campus collectively moved its laboratories, classrooms, offices, and other facilities into Research Gate Building TONOMACHI 2-A, which was newly constructed in "Zone A" in October 2017. Forming a hub for the Japan Science and Technology Agency’s Research Complex Program through collaboration with companies and research institutes in Tonomachi, the campus aims to be a center of well-being research creating new industries via world-class technological and social innovations.
