Director HIKARI's debut feature film, "37 Seconds," has already captivated film fans worldwide, hailed as "a work that has elevated Japanese cinema to a new level." The film won two awards at the Berlin International Film Festival, an unprecedented achievement: the Panorama Audience Award and the International Confederation of Art Cinemas
(CICAE) Art Cinema Award. The story follows Yuma, the protagonist, who was born with a physical disability because her breathing stopped for just 37 seconds at birth. It depicts her dramatic growth as she struggles to find self-expression,
meets various people, and navigates unexpected
developments. There will also be a talk session on the theme of "Expression and Disability." Seating is limited, but all interested parties are welcome to attend.
