Expert Guidance from Leading Scholars Across a Wide Range of Disciplines
The Graduate School of Economics boasts a large number of leading scholars in Japan across diverse research fields that extend beyond the traditional boundaries of economics. A well-developed support system is in place to respond to students' wide-ranging interests and to provide close guidance in both study and research. Workshops are also held in many specialized fields, offering opportunities to engage with the latest research presented by scholars from Japan and abroad. To promote academic exchange across institutions and disciplines, the Graduate School of Economics has established inter-university course registration programs with other graduate schools (Institute of Science Tokyo, Waseda University, Hitotsubashi University), as well as dual degree programs with the Graduate School of Law, Letters, and Business and Commerce at Keio University, and the School of Engineering at Institute of Science Tokyo.
A Diverse Range of Educational Programs Designed for the Global Era
The Graduate School of Economics offers a wide range of opportunities for international study, including double degree programs through which students can earn master’s degrees from both the Graduate School of Economics and partner institutions such as Brandeis University and CEMS MIM, as well as exchange programs with numerous overseas universities under independent agreements of the Faculty and the Graduate School of Economics. In addition, many specialized economics courses are offered in English, allowing students to fulfill graduation requirements entirely through English-medium instruction. The Graduate School also welcomes many international students from institutions such as HEC Paris, Bocconi University, and the University of Cologne, providing a truly international learning environment even while studying in Japan.
