Degrees of Graduate School of Economics

This section provides information on the number of degrees awarded and the completion requirements for degrees offered by the Graduate School of Economics.

Completion Requirements

Master's Program

To complete the master's program, students must be enrolled in the Master's Program of the Graduate School of Economics for at least two years (or 1 year or 1.5 years in the case of early completion), receive research supervision, and fulfill requirements specified by the Graduate School of Economics as outlined in items ①, ②, and ③ below,  earning a total of at least 30 credits. In addition, students must submit a master's thesis and pass the final examination. The required courses for completion are as follows:

① 10 or more credits from major subjects

② 8 or more credits from seminar subjects

③ At least 20 credits, including those from ① and ②, must be earned at Keio University (this excludes credits transferred from study abroad or courses taken at other universities).

Doctoral Program

To complete the doctoral program, students must be enrolled in the program for at least 3 years, receive research supervision, earn a minimum of 12 credits (excluding elective courses), and pass the examination of the doctoral thesis and the final examination. However, the enrollment period may be reduced to less than three years in certain cases. For details, please refer to the course guide.
