Dual Degree Program

In today’s society, there is a strong demand for personnel who possess a broad range of knowledge, the ability to think flexibly, and the ability to make sound judgments. In order to respond to this demand, the master’s program at the Graduate School of Business and Commerce launched a dual degree program with the Graduate School of Letters, the Graduate School of Economics, and the Graduate School of Law in 2010. Students who take advantage of the dual degree program can obtain two master’s degrees (Business and Commerce/Literature, Business and Commerce/Economics, or Business and Commerce/Law) in two or three years. As such, it allows students to further broaden their career options.

The reason it is possible for students to earn two degrees in a short period of time is an advantageous system in which they can earn up to 12 credits toward their second master’s degree in advance while enrolled in the first master’s degree program, and up to 10 credits earned for completion of the first master’s degree can be used toward completion of the second.

Applicants who wish to obtain a dual degree will be required to take a separate entrance examination from the general entrance examination. Eligible applicants are students who are in their first or second year of study at their original graduate school, who are expected to complete their studies at the end of that year, and who wish to pursue a dual degree at a second graduate school. However, there are some majors in the Graduate School of Letters that are not included in the dual degree program. For more information, please contact the Office of Student Services at the graduate school to which you currently belong.
