I am majoring in international economics under Professor Masahiro Endo. My experience as an intern at a research institute in Cambodia during my master's program sparked my interest in the creation of job opportunities, poverty reduction, and women's empowerment brought about by international trade, which led me to decide to pursue the Doctoral Programs.
Thanks to the excellent research environment at Keio University and the Graduate School of Business and Commerce, as well as the research funds and grants I received, I was able to conduct fieldwork in Cambodia during long breaks. I collected data through the network I built locally, and I am currently conducting an empirical analysis of the impact of international trade on the Cambodian labor market based on that data.
Professor Endo always supports my research based on his extensive knowledge of international economics, allowing me to push beyond my limits and take on new research challenges. He also provides specific and feasible advice regarding my future career. Furthermore, at the Graduate School of Business and Commerce, I receive warm support from other professors in the same field besides my academic advisor. For example, Professor Daito and Professor Sugita have given me much advice on economic theory and research methods, allowing me to deepen my learning. Thanks to this support, I feel that I have grown significantly over the past two years.
In the future, I hope to enter the teaching profession to give back to those who have supported me and to pass on my experience and knowledge to the next generation. The Keio University Graduate School of Business and Commerce provides the optimal environment for growth for those who are serious about their academic pursuits.
