Every time I observe a class, I am moved by the children's overflowing intellectual curiosity and the creative lessons taught by the faculty that richly draw it out. This school has a vibrancy where each individual deepens their learning driven by their own curiosity and grows together with their peers.
To support such intellectual adventures, a foundation where children can feel safe and be themselves is essential. In the Health Room, nurses, school doctors, and school counselors collaborate with families to support the healthy growth of each individual.
What I find particularly significant as a school counselor is the ability to continuously support children and their families, looking ahead not only to their six years at this school but also to the following six years at Keio Shonan Fujisawa Junior and Senior High School. Children grow significantly from childhood to adolescence, and parent-child relationships change accordingly. In that process, they may face new challenges or confusion. Being able to provide seamless consultation and support even at such turning points is a unique characteristic of our school.
Furthermore, based on the relationship of trust built over many years between the faculty and the Health Room staff, our school counseling is widely recognized as a daily support resource and is used familiarly, primarily by parents. In recent years, online consultations have also been introduced, establishing a more accessible consultation system.
It is our greatest joy to see children, raised within this long-term support, progress to Keio Shonan Fujisawa Junior and Senior High School and freely expand their own potential.
