In AY 2022, the Nakatsu Citizen’s Lecture and the Nakatsu City Archives Lecture, which welcomed its 14th session, were finally held in-person. The former was held three times － in June and November 2022, and in March 2023 － covering the historical figure Tokujirō Obata, while the latter was held from August 23 for five days and four nights, with lecturers and TAs dispatched from the Fukuzawa Memorial Institute for Modern Japanese Studies. In addition, Keio supported a special exhibition at the Nakatsu City History Museum, and a joint special exhibition was also held at Keio History Museum in partnership with Nakatsu City. Continuing from the previous academic year, joint research was conducted on the Watanabe family who were scholars of ancient Japanese literature, the Umeda family who were retainers of the Nakatsu daimyo, and Tokujirō Obata, and there was a study and an exchange of opinions regarding these figures. Keio’s Program for Leading Graduate Schools also supported a public lecture, “Mirai Lab.”, which was aimed at high school students, by providing lecturers.
