Keio University

Social Partnerships and Community Service

In keeping with the school philosophy of contributing to the “achievement of a healthy and happy life for all people,” Keio University makes its intellectual resources available to the public and local communities, working together with residents to build a prosperous future society.

Under its Policy on Community and Regional Collaboration and related policies, Keio University has developed a number of proactive social partnerships and community service activities based on the expertise of each faculty, graduate school, research center, and institute, promoting mutually beneficial partnerships with society and local communities. A dedicated organization, the Office of Community and Regional Affairs, serves as the external contact point for community and social cooperation both within and outside the university, and works systematically and organically to promote collaboration and partnerships with society and communities.

Policy on Community and Regional Collaboration

1. Human Resource Development

Through education, research, and medical care, we will develop human resources who will shape the world of the future and give back to society at large.

2. Fostering Cyclical Partnerships

Through academic activities, we promote an environment that fosters the creation of new value in society and cultivate cyclical partnerships that create sustainable community and regional synergies.

3. Outreach

We will communicate information on various activities related to community and regional partnerships, and further promote community and regional collaboration to achieve sustainable social development as well as an open-minded and dynamic university.
