The President's Award and the President's Honorable Mention

The President's Award and the President's Honorable Mention recognize students who have demonstrated exemplary achievements in various fields such as academics, arts, social activities, and cultural activities.

For AY2024, one individual was selected for the President's Award and seven individuals across two projects were selected for the President's Honorable Mention. The awards ceremony was held in March at Mita Campus.

AY 2024 President's Award

  • Mr. Tamura received Honorable Mention for Meritorious Scientific Poster at the 19th Undergraduate Student Caucus and Poster Competition (USCPC).

  •  His lead presentation was accepted for an Oral Talk with a 3% acceptance rate.

Tomohiro Tamura, 6th Year, School of Medicine

He was the only student from a European or Asian university to receive an Honorable Mention for Meritorious Scientific Poster at the 19th Undergraduate Student Caucus and Poster Competition (USCPC). Furthermore, his lead presentation was accepted for an Oral Talk with a 3% acceptance rate. These achievements are the result of his tireless dedication and are a source of pride for Keio University.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Keio University who guided me, my family back home who supported me, and my wife who decided to walk this path with me. These were the best six years. I will dedicate my life to the advancement of tumor medicine.”

The team participated in the Rakumachi Cup 39th All-Japan Student Shogi Championship (Team Competition) and achieved Keio University's first team victory in 20 years, receiving high acclaim. This remarkable achievement is a source of pride for Keio University.

“It is a great honor to receive this prestigious award. We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported us daily. We will not rest on our laurels but will continue to strive for even greater achievements.”

The 74th All-Japan Student Law Debate Competition - 1st Place in Questioning Division, 3rd Place in Argumentation Division

Miu Otsuka, 3rd Year, Faculty of Law

She participated in the 74th All Japan Student Law Debate Competition, achieving 1st place in the Questioning Division and 3rd place in the Argumentation Division, receiving high acclaim. Her achievements are the result of her tireless dedication and are a source of pride for Keio University.

“I could receive this honorable award thanks to Associate Professor Takashi Iwakawa, who recommended me, my fellow students, seniors, family, and all those who supported me. I will continue to strive to become an excellent legal professional.”

Past President's Awards and President's Honorable Mentions

President's Award (Affiliated schools)

Koizumi Sports Award, Koizumi Sports Dedication Award, and Koizumi Sports Encouragement Award

The Koizumi Sports Award and Koizumi Sports Dedication Award are established by the Keio Gijuku Koizumi Memorial Fund for the Advancement of Education and Research commemorating former President Dr. Shinzo Koizumi, and are awarded to students in athletic associations.

The Koizumi Sports Encouragement Award, on the other hand, was established in AY1994 to recognize organizations or individuals outside of athletic associations who are outstanding in character, in good health, and have enhanced Keio University's reputation through sports.
