Genya Ishigami Laboratory, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University, Contributing to research on field robots operating in extreme environments such as lunar and planetary exploration

The Ishigami Laboratory is engaged in four research areas.

1. Terramechanics (the interaction dynamics between machinery and soil)

2. Autonomous mobility systems (building systems for robots to move autonomously in unknown environments)

3. Multibody dynamics (computer simulation analysis of the motion of probes and vehicles in real environments)

4. Machine learning (proposing methods to predict soil deformation and contact forces to improve the efficiency of tasks such as traversing and excavating rough terrain)
