Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Professor, Satoru Tokuhisa
My research is grounded in human-centred design and Service-Dominant Logic, and has explored collaboration between humans and generative AI / AI agents, the design of local governance through Web3, and the design of service ecosystems focusing on the Philippine coconut industry — all with the aim of reframing resources to envisage value co-creation. I have also supported new business development at dozens of companies and co-founded several start-ups, valuing the interplay between theory and practice. At SFC, which embraces problem-finding and interdisciplinarity, I hope to explore design methodologies for the age of AI, take on the possibilities of service design with space as a new frontier, and envisage the future of value co-creation together with students.
Faculty of Policy Management, Visiting Lecturer (Invited), Wu Qi
I have been conducting research in phonetics and foreign language education, with a particular focus on the visualization of articulatory movements using MRI, acoustic analysis, and the development of AI-powered pronunciation learning systems. What I value most in both research and teaching is creating a sense of curiosity, the feeling of “This is interesting” and “I want to know more.” I hope to work together with students to pursue exciting research and create enjoyable classes, while exploring language in connection with culture, society, and technology. Taking full advantage of SFC’s open and interdisciplinary environment, I look forward to developing new approaches to research and education that bridge linguistics, foreign language education, and ICT.
