Rintaro Inagaki (Faculty of Environment and Information Studies 2nd Year) received the "Excellent Paper Award" at CSS2025.

CSS (Computer Security Symposium) is a symposium organized by the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ) Special Interest Group on Computer Security (CSEC). Since the first symposium in 1998, the Special Interest Group on Security Psychology and Trust (SPT) has co-hosted the event since 2008. It is held annually to promote research, dissemination, and expert collaboration in a wide range of fields, including basic theory of computer security and social science considerations. The 28th symposium was held from October 27 to 31, 2025, at the Okayama Convention Center, with 273 presentations from university affiliates and corporate researchers.

Inagaki's presentation was recognized in the socially significant field of "Content Moderation in E2EE Messaging." He proposed a protocol utilizing cryptographic technology from a perspective that is difficult to generate through engineering concepts alone, presenting a new viewpoint on the problem and a potential compromise. As a result, he received the "Excellent Paper Award," which is awarded to the top 13 papers following the Best Paper Award.

Inagaki is a member of the "Kusumoto, Takashio, Van Meter, Uehara, Mitsugi, Nakazawa, and Okoshi Joint Research Project (SFC-RG)" and is actively engaged in research activities.

Comment from Rintaro Inagaki

I am deeply honored to receive the Excellent Paper Award at CSS2025, the largest information security conference in Japan. This achievement is entirely due to the enthusiastic guidance and encouragement of my academic advisors and seniors. Encouraged by this award, I will continue to devote myself to my research to contribute to the increasingly important field of content moderation in E2EE messaging.
