The ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest) is an international intercollegiate programming contest organized by the International Information Science Foundation. More than 30,000 university, graduate, and technical college students participate worldwide every year, with the aim of improving programming skills and fostering internationalism.
In the Domestic Preliminary held in July 2025, 355 teams participated, and "Rinshan Solution" brilliantly won first place. Subsequently, in the Asia Yokohama Regional Contest held in December 2025, which included teams from abroad for a total of 63 teams, the team achieved second place and earned the right to participate in the "ICPC Asia Pacific Championship" scheduled to be held in Taiwan in March 2026.
If they achieve excellent results at the ICPC Asia Pacific Championship, where teams that have won competitions in other parts of Asia also gather, they will be invited to the subsequent World Finals.
Comments from the Winning Team
From the early to middle stages, our strategy of clearly dividing roles between the person in charge of analysis and the person in charge of implementation worked well, allowing us to take a significant lead over other teams. In the final stage, although we solved the same number of problems as the winning team, we fell slightly short due to the difference in solving speed, resulting in second place based on the difference in total time.
We are very happy that the results of the practice the three of us have been building up every week have come to fruition in the form of a silver medal. Since we felt we were just one step away from victory, we will continue to work hard toward the Asia Pacific Championship in Taiwan and do our best to achieve good results.
